  1. Hello all.. I am a 46 year old female who is interested in taking up biking. I was recently diagnosed with a non progressive form of multiple sclerosis. I am determined to remain active and cycling really appeals to me. I live in Washington and am interested in a hybrid bike. I've read that hybrids are best for both pavement and off road. I don't plan on biking on rough terrain. I am not able to spend more than $350. I am 5'3" and about 145lbs. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Pashladd

  2. Generally, good new bikes start at around $400. If you shop carefully, though, especially for end-of-season closeouts, you might be able to get a good hybrid that fits your budget. Two of these that I like a lot are the Trek 7.1 FX and the Diamondback Clarity 1.
