  1. Chain that is broken, just two since 1996. Middle ring
did it in.Chain was toast. On went the replacement chain and saved the
crank till the morning since I had to find the tools & crank in the
spare parts box. Hooked teeth chainring will have to be replaced.

  2. Had a small problem getting the crank off Time for a new
crank remover. This time a Parks CCP-2. The one I used is a 9 year old
    Lifu.

On a bike you ride regularly? Wait, second chain you've BROKEN, or
second chain in ten years PERIOD? I seem to go through at least one
chain per season. Granted, I'm not a real stickler for "eat off it"
cleanliness, but it's not crusted in filth or kept in cross-over
    ratios....

  5. The 2nd chain that broke. The 1st was on a bike in 96.
Oh I've had many bikes and more chains then I can remember since but
this is the only the 2nd one to break in the past 10 years. The
1 st was a bad pin. And this time it was the hooked teeth on the middle
    ring.
