Norco CRD2 Road Bike

I ride a 7005 Aluminium carbon forked road bike, not a Norco though, a Fetish Cycles - I have had a few Aluminium bikes, all have been 6061 alloy frames up until now and my 7005 seems a little more sturdy, I don't know exactly but different components in the Aluminium. I'll let someone who knows there chemistry answer that one.

I like Aluminium, it was very popular before the Carbon fibre revolution, a lot of top riders still ride Aluminium. It is strong and lightweight.

There are loads of good websites with info on different frame materials and their benefitis/drawbacks.

I haven't used Tiagra, but even Sora is reliable. So it sounds as though you have got a pretty good bike at a very good price. Also, I have heard a lot of good things about Norco.

I should have done more reaserach before I bought it, but yea....I've been looking everywhere for a new bike for this price..and this was the only one.

I'm not sure if you know, but if not, "CAAD" is a Cannondale term for "Cannondale Advanced Aluminum Design" and doesn't indicate anything about the alloy, per se. The "7005" does indicate the alloy (i.e., combinations of metals used in addition to "pure" aluminum).

Any precautions? YES!! When I was looking at used bikes, I couldn't beleive how many had small dents. The aluminum tubes are thin in order to be light, and can be dented quite easily in some spots like the top tube. Check out the precautions from Cannondale.

my wife bought an 06 crd1
very nice stuff. the 7005 refers to the aluminium alloy. i think that that is the way to put it. it is a lighter stronger quality than the 6061. i do not have all the specs or stuff on it. you know that if there was a problem with that grade of alumminium they would quit using it. most frames are warented for life. and businesses like to stay in bussiness. my wife works at an lbs that carries only norco i do not believe there has ever been a road bike come back on warrenty with frame problems. and if you ever have a legitimate problem. i am pretty sure norco will look after you.
