  1. Hi,

Just wondering about the tire width for a rim that is 26x1.5.
    I have a cannondale f700.

    Stock tires were 26x1.95

Am I limited to 26x1.5 or can I go as narrow as 1.4?
I was thinking of using Ritchey Tom Slick(26x1.4)

    thanks,
    Mutsu

Pretty much any 26" tire will fit on your rim. Though, you may have a problem with larger tires fitting inside of your fork and chainstays.

The only other problem you could have is fitting a SMALL width tire on a wide rim.

You should have no problem with a 1.4" tire.

  3. I've got narrow tires and rims on one of my bikes. I had to use two washers between the hub and the forks, but it works fine on the road. When I go off-road I switch to larger tires and rims.
