A few months ago the seat on my TE developed a creaking noise. I tried
everything I could think of to cure the problem. Checked to see if the
hose clamps were tight, checked the nuts that hold the seat down, made
sure the frame was ok, etc. Finally one morning the seat was really,
really loose so I took it off. I discovered that the mounting rails were
at fault. They had broken right where the bolt heads clamp down on them.
Furthermore there was a crack going from one slot to the other. Mystery
solved. I ordered a new seat from Easy Racers installed it and all is now
well. No more noise.
Have any of you had a similar experience? Do you know why this happened?
