No schwag on the Champs-Elysees?

My family was on the Champs for the final day of the Tour and the caravan did not throw out any schwag. Does anyone know if this is normal? I hadn't heard of this, nor had any of the others I was hanging out with. To say my kids were disappointed would be an understatement.

I think they are afraid of inciting riots.
On the mountain stages they are quite ood at throwing the schwag on the ground at people's feet, so as no to incur lawsuite by poking someone's eyes out with a piece of schwag.
So, yes, sadly I recall the same.

But imagine the scramble of people six deep by the barriers diving for musette bags.

Did the Aquarel people at least squirt water at you. My fave on the hot mountain days.

Thanks for the reply. We were at Villar D'Lans two years ago about 300 meters from the finish and the caravan threw out tons of stuff at and over our heads. We were expecting more of the same. I was guessing they didn't do it on the Champs because they didn't want a keychain in the gutter if a breakaway wanted to ride there.
