  1. Having not done any great distance this year, I pushed myself this morning
to a measly 33 miles. Through
Hanningfiled, Galleywood, Ingatestone & Stock (Essex). Really nice ride -
that i would normally breeze through, but
it was such hard work :-( My average speed is too embarrassing to list. So
it's back up the gym for me to
drastically improve my CV level. In the meantime - i'm going for a snooze in
    the garden...ZZzzzz

Excellent. A bike ride finishing at Stock. Is the Hoop still there?
And does it still have its festivals?

Another way to drastically improve your CV level is to go out cycling
    more :-)

Yep, the Hoop is still there, bu the Wife prefers the [censored] Inn on a Sunday
    afternoon (That's the other Pub
not a pastime !) I suppose if i had a quick drink in each pub I would be
    pretty [censored]-a-hoop about it.

Agreed, the best practice for cycling is cycling. But for training in the
optimum zones I think you can't do much better
than a hot sweaty exercise bike or x-trainer.

...my snooze idea was cruelly ripped from me, instead it was a run to the
tip, walk the dog, light the barbie and so on,
you know what it's like !!.
