After all the encouragement and support I received here, I
thought I owed you an update.
I'm now fit enough and confident enough to be able to use my
bike as an alternative to the bus for travel all over
Sheffield. The trick on the very steep bits seems to be to
know when to admit you're beaten, get off and walk, and then
there's enough energy left for the rest :-) I'll never be a
sport or distance cyclist, but it's nice not to be dependent
on buses or car parking, and I enjoy what cycling I do. I'm
intending to take the bike with real gears to the lbc to get
it checked over, so I will finally be able to lay the one
with the SA hub to rest.
And I lost a couple of stone as well, though the extra
exercise isn't the only reason.
Thanks to everyone here who kept me going when I was saddle
sore and knackered!
Debbie
