Just back from Brescia stage (150 km of traing going and back 🙂 ) i saw and heard from reginal TV news that there are 5 meters of snow at the passo Gavia and that until few days ago the famous gallery was totally blocked by snow.
I'm looking for the pics but they were really impressive!

Worrisome since it could alter the race.
Riis e.g. was critical of Basso for not taking on clothes on the stage when he went off with Piepoli.
As 7-Eleven found out, preparation is key in a stage like that, unless the organisers whimp out and alter the route.
Sometimes the forecast doesnt allow that latitude.
An added dimension of weathe COULD favor Salvodelli or Tom I live and train in Colorado and am a mountain biker Danielson!!
