  1. Hi to all

I've just treated myself to a new bike - a very happy terrago owner however
my d ring lock fitting is too small for the new machine.

Any thoughts from the NG on a decent locking system.

    Cheers

Nothing will stop the determined. The best you can do is make it more
convenient to nick someone else's bike.

If weight doesn't matter, a nice big Abus. I leave a heavy Abus
D-lock on teh racks at work (plus a somewhat wimpy Kryptonite). At
home, there's a heavy chain concreted into teh garage floor (heavy
chain, steel bar through the last link, concrete garage floor laid on
top) used with a good padlock.

If you've got to carry your locking system (garage floor doesn't fit
in a pannier), I adopt either the cheap cable-lock and don't let the
bike out of your sight approach, or the cheap cable lock and cheap
bike approach. In these cases I use a curly Squire cable - it only
has to delay teh would-be thief for teh time it takes me to run back
to teh bike from when I see them tampering.

    regards, Ian SMith

I've heard good things about the masterlock street cuff

    has a $3500 anti-theft warranty.

1.2kgs, and there's a bottle rack adapter to hold it.
