  1. I am an adult who is interested in learning to swim as an exercise. I
would like to do laps eventually. I had my first private lesson this
Saturday. I learned the basic stuffs freestyle and breast strokes both
under water. I think I move my legs right, but I have hard time with my
arms. Because of this, I can't swim further and I get tired more
quickly. I don't think I got the technique right yet. My other problem
    is breathing right.

Which stroke is good for a begginer. Are there good websites that
teaches you different strokes and breathing techniques (pictures
    preferable)?

    Thanks

  2. First try and build some stamina in all the strokes before working on
technique (that will come in time), I see a lot of people starting of doing
breast stroke because that is the easiest for them to do and others prefer
the front crawl, the problem with that is most of these people tend to stay
with that stroke and then only swim that stroke. Try and develop all four
strokes together and do not worry to much about technique as yet. You are in
any case not going to catch Schoeman , Phelps or any of those in the near
future and by that time you will understand that Rome wasn't build in one
    day.
