My partner and I have just purchased a mountain bike each and we have some newbie type questions. Here we go anyway...
1. Are there computerised gadgets or pedometers in biking that we could buy to tell us how far we have been? If yes what are they called and is there a price range (Aussie Dollars)
2. We are both finding that with living in a cooler climate that we are getting a little earache from the cooler conditions...we have helmets but want to know whether there are earplugs that could be used that still let sound through or if anyone has any other solution for us.

1- i believe they are called cyclometers, 20 USD for a cheap one, dont know the aussie conv.
2- i wear a beanie under my helmet when its winter
You can buy cycle computers that vary from $40 AU through to a couple of hundred dollars. Go to any bike store and ask for a cycle computer and they will know what you are looking for and they will be able to help you.
As for cold ears, on chilly mornings I wear a thin thermal beanie under my helmet, you can also get headbands that cover your ears but let the rest of your head stay cool.
Hey there Duckwah Thank you for helping us with our questions....we will look into a cpl of bike computers from the shop we bought the bikes from. As for the headbands...great idea...i guess we can both look like Mr. Spock on wheels!!! We have only had our bikes for a few days @ present so we are starting off on the flat ground round town. The town has some HUGE hills....didn't realise how big they were until we got on the bikes! The hills are a LOT smaller when we are in the car! lol
