Hi there guys and girls, i am just getting into cycling after a very long time of not doing very much sport.
I have a road bike but i will probably only be able to go out on it 2 days a week max due to the fact im a single parent with a 6 year old. I was wondering if i got myself a mountain bike too and one for my lad and also a tag a long bar i could "train" with him just to improve my fitness a little on top of my 2 days on the road bike?
Id never want to take my lad out on the road at this age so i was thinking cycle paths/tow paths etc?
Will the "training" on the mountain bike help me or should i stick to training on the road bike?
At this point, any time you spend on the bike will improve your fitness. That is one of the benefits of being a newbie... it doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you are doing something.
In regards to taking your 6 year old, you would get a better workout if you were using the two-a-long... but it would probably be more enjoyable for the two of you if he had his own bike.
