  1. I just purchased a Kurt Kinetic Fluid Trainer. This is the first trainer that I have ever used and it seams to be a lot more intense of a ride than on the road. What I mean is that it seems a lot harder. I have been out on many 4+ hour rides and in a half hour on the trainer I was very tired. Is this something that you have to get use to or am I doing something wrong….or am I just a wus.

  2. No, you are simply not riding on the road, with all the freewheeling, stoplights, light downhills to coast on...

If you do a quick search you will find multiple topics on this... most people consider serious trainer time to be worth 1.5 to 2 times on road riding.

  3. I have the same trainer. I do about 35 to 45 miles on my bike and I just got my trainer for the winter time and I am also new to the sport and only can do about a half an hours also. I think it is just more of a work out.

  4. Pete hit it on the nose...On the trainer, you're not pausing for lights, pedestrians, or coasting down hills. While on the trainer, adjusting your intensity is key. I suggest intervals as they incorporate a rest period between periods of higher intensity. Or just monitor how hard you are going and just pedal slowly to rest actively.

  5. I got one too, they say it simulates a 1% uphill so no freewheeling

been doing intervals with spinervals dvd's, they make an hour fly.
I plan to try a power based scheme soon.
