  1. I am a new rider and am so excited about this sport. I have been riding for about three weeks and am already inspired to structure my riding around some goal oriented training. I would like to eventually start training for some longer rides including a century.

How do I get started on a training program?
I have looked at a few books but there are quite a few out there. Can anyone recommend a good book?

Hope this helps. Enjoy your new hobby.

  3. Edmund Burke is fantastic. He contributed worlds to making cycling as scientific as it is today. If learning is what you're after, all his books are great. And if you're really serious, invest in a heart rate monitor and maybe a book about its use. Have fun and don't lose the enthusiasm!
