  1. So my dad just gave me his cannondale r590 road bike. I'm looking to get into cycling. What are some way to get in shape? Also the front rim is crooked/bent, I was wondering if that's a problem that can be fixed without buying a whole new wheel? Thanks for all the help!

  2. Most bent rims can be fixed but it really depends on how badly it is torqued. Google "how to fix a bent bicycle rim" and you will come up will all kinds of links to many sites including videos that are eager to teach and show you how to repair a bent rim. Hope this helps.

  3. I recommend taking it to a bike shop. If it can be repaired it will require a truing stand to get it right.

+1. Unless you have experience let a professional handle this repair.

As far as getting in shape just get on that bike and ride as often as you can. Somewhere in between the old "30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week" and the typical pro weekly diet of 20+ hours should do just fine.
