  1. Hi

Today I've ordered my new mountainbike,a Specialized Stumpjumper. But
I've heard different things about the brakes on this modell. Are there
any reason to upgrade the brakes, and if this is the case, to what?

    /Andy

  2. Do you have the 04 or the 05?

The 04 comes with Shimano 525 hydraulics
The 05 comes with Avid Juicy 5s.

I have the 04 and have ridden the 05.

First I'd say if you are riding in wet conditions, and are not used to disc
brakes, you will notice incredible stopping power. Second, I have had no
problems with the Shimano 525s but I prefer the Avid Juicy 5s.

But, the Shimano 965s which are stock on the enduro are a major step up I
    think.

  3. Hi

I've purchased the 05, but not with the disc brakes, with Avid SD-5R brakes.

There are approximate 173 different types of Specialized Stumpjumpers, both
full-suspension and hardtail. Which one do you have exactly? FSR Pro?
    FSRxc Comp?
