New Local bike shop????

The stuff on the bike that you get serviced is exactly the same as on any bike. Same gears, hubs and so on. Now, lets say your frame breaks, and your local LBS is gone, that could cause you issues perhaps? But, the components on a bike are generic items that can be serviced anywhere, but you would loose your "perks" with a new bike, such as a free first service and such.
