  1. Hello!

I'm new here, so I'd like to introduce myself.
I'm Pepijn, a bikenut from the Netherlands. I never thought of myself as a bikenut, but recently someone pointed out to me that having 2 mountainbikes, 1 racer, 1 tourbike (ok, it's my wifes), 1 beachcruiser in parts and another mountainbike in parts while looking for a recumbent bike is just not normal 😄

Years ago I used to be a very avid biker. Did some mountainbike racing, and was pretty good at it. But then I had a pretty bad accident, wrecked my knee and the fun was over. Now 10 years later, I still have a fairly weak knee but still have the urge to go out and ride. Unfortunately, mountainbiking is no longer an option for me, and regular road biking or touring I find boring. Touring is too slow, and road racing, well I just don't like staring at the pavement all the time. In the past I have also worked as a mechanic in a bikeshop, loved that work, but business became slow and there was no more work for me 🙁

But as the bike craving kept coming back, I sold my car and bought a recumbent bike. A Challenge Hurricane Sport USS. When I get used to the bike, I'll be using it for the daily 17km (one way) commute to work.
