Hi,
I am about to move out to Raleigh from the United Kingdom over the the next few months. I carried my Raleigh SP Ti road bike out with me and I have had a few rides in North Raleigh. I have been riding around 4000 miles per year for the last 30 years, mainly commutes and charity rides, and it would be good to meet other cyclists in the area. I am male and 57 years old.
Cheers,
Tony

I'm in Durham and I'm looking into getting into cycling. Let me know if you find some nice places to ride. thanks and welcome to NC. -

Hi Dasminkar,
Well, I have been in Raleigh for the last two weeks and I have managed 5 rides around the north and east of the city. I really like riding on US roads, they are so SMOOTH compared to those in the UK. Traffic is different. Drivers are generally slower than in the UK but they are probably less aware of cyclists so make sure that they can see you at all times. I like riding out in the really hot weather so long as I am out for one hour or less, otherwise I should require significant rehydration. This is my last full day in NC but I shall be back in late August for a few days and then, hopefully, in October on a more permanent basis. I hope to meet with you then.
Cheers,
Tony
