  1. I have a 12 ish year old frame in reynolds 653 (is that still out there?), which I am having resprayed and cold-set for 9 / 10 speed. Having bougt some 9 speed campag ergo levers, can I mix 'n match my campag levers with shimano front / rear mechs and or shimano / campag 9 speed cassettes without problems.

I think you will want to match shifters with the manufactures dérailleurs, but the cassette spacing is close enough for each that shifting will work with with either mfg's cassette you choose.

Except that a shimano FD or about any other will work with a campy front shifter.
