  1. Hey all,

New here to these forums. First a little history for you. I was real big into mountain bikes for a long time about 6 years ago, but I got into dirtbiking real heavy as well and unfortunatly biking had to go.

Fast forward 6 years and one knee operation later. I'm looking into getting back into mountain biking, with my girlfriend now as something for us to do when we're not out messing around with other things. I plan to ride 3-4 days a week hopefully. Looking at riding moderate trails and some road travel.

We have found a bike for her, she found a Specialized Rockhopper that just fits her perfect. So now its my turn to find a bike. I've been looking at the Gary Fisher Tassajara, but havent seen much else, I like the way the geometery fits my frame. I'm 6'2 220lbs. What I'm asking in a long winded fashion is what else do you guys think would be a good bike for this? One thing I know is I want at the very least full shimano deore on the bike, I dont like the feel of any of the lower end shimano stuff. I am putting about $600 into the bike.

    Thanks a ton!

    -Monty

  3. Seems like a nice bike. I have also looked at a Giant Ranier at the moment which seems to be similar.
