My new bike arrived today. It's only a cheapish GT Agresseor but already looks a lot nicer than my old one.
It came by courier flat packed with no assembly instructions or spanner shaped peice of metal so it's good that I knew how bikes all go together and had some decent tools.
I've noticed that in the V of the frame where the forks go through, there's scratching to the paint which I'm going to complain about it even though there's not much that can be done about it now. Other gripes are that the pedals don't have an L or R on them so it was trickier than usual to work out which was which, and the front reflector attches to the handlebars rather than the forks (I think I'll forget to put it on, the back one goes on fine and looks normal).
On a more technical note, if I spin the cranks without the chain on, they don't spin round and round when you let go. There's no grinding or niticeable stiffness when turning them but on every other bike I've had, they spin really freely but these just stop spinning almost straight away. Does anyone know if they should be like this or does it need taking apart and checking? (or sending back *shudders*)

Probably just a bit of new bike stiffness. I had a similar worry when I first got my 10 speed ultegra. Turned out fine. As long as there is no noticable resistance when you turn them, and you say there isnt. I wouldnt worry.

Probably just claggy new grease. If they still don't spin after a 'running in' period (say 100 miles), it /may/ be time to worry.
