  1. Hi all. I own and ride mountain bikes, though I do a fair bit of road riding with one of them(full suspension and semi-slick tires). I get alot of enjoyment out of it as well as a different type of ride from my usual. My road rides consist of good paved road, bumpy paved road and some gravel roads, all at a fairly good pace. If I could ride only smooth paved road and get the same scenery and solitude as the other less travelled roads, I would.
I feel I would get even more enjoyment(I like speed too) and some training benefit from a more "road" oriented bike. So to my questions. Would a road bike with those 'skinny little tires' 🙂 take me where I want to go? There are different tires I'm guessing, but any suitable?
A hard tail hybrid like this http://www.marinbikes.com/2005_bikes/html/spec_04_pointreyes.html is intriguing as a compromise, if compromise is necessary. Kinda cool from here, any thoughts from a road perspective.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long winded explanation.

I bought a used road bike because it was all I could find with my mountain bike died and the change is unbelievable - the only way I'm going back if for snow biking or REALLY rough trail riding- borrow a road bike if you can to test but definitely try it, The switch is pure bliss 😄
