A new timing system has been developed by RFID Race Timing Systems (Australia) for use in triathlons, running events and swim thru's. The system uses radio frequency identification similar to that used by the Championchip and Winning Time systems. However, this system is designed for the smaller events since and is very affordable. A full system with 500 transponders (500 competitors) can be purchased for $8000.00.
