It's some wacky new training regimen, designed for after the base
mileage is built up. You're supposed to do it for 6 weeks before the

The training seems to be little more than fairly standard interval speed-work, but the gimmick
(besides being designed for the time budgets of fattie masters like me) is this neuromuscular
exercise they want you to do between the intervals and the warmups:

The exercise looks stupid, but it seems to be aimed at getting some tendons and muscles moving in
the legs. I tried it out, and 45 of those in 30 seconds is fast, but only as hard as anything can be
in 30 seconds.
What do you think, anyone understand the theory behind this? since the interval training
fundamentals are sound, and the neuromuscular fit you're supposed to pull seems to be at worst a
placebo, I'm planning to try this for an early-season race I have coming up in April.
