  1. I saw a suspiciously cheap tent in Netto yesterday. It was a four man tent,
with separate flysheet and it had a sticker on it saying that it was
reduced to 9.99. Don't know if this was a local thing or something that
applies to all stores. It was a fair bit heavier than my two man and I have
no real use for it as I don't have a car.

Written it up at http://www.unmusic.co.uk/ukodb (haven't quite given up on
the idea of the noticeboard site yet, regardless of lack of initial
    interest).

i've bought cheap tents in the past - still have one in fact. they're ok,
you get what you pay for as with most things. the cheap ones tend to be
single skinned which means they're prone to condensation and have no
mosquito netting inside. they're fine for light summer use but never in the
    winter.

in fact my tesco 2man retailing at £9.99 is a very light tent and i took it
to walk offas dyke path recently - it fared pretty well i must say, keeping
me dry a few nights that it rained 🙂

Actually the instruction sheet on the packaging seemed to indicate that the
tent has a separate inner and outer, which is why I mention it here. What
the actual tent would be like at that price, I have no idea though.

I sometimes see this sort for about a tenner and I've consider them as a
cheap way of going ultra-light ultra-cheaply when the weather is fairly
    assured.
