  1. I heard somewhere that excessive use of mangoes cause Nephritis because the mangoes are extremely
    acidic and affect the kidneys.

    Could there be any truth in this or is this folklore?

    A web search turned up several references to mangoes being recommended as a naturopathic *treatment*
    for nephritis. Perhaps whoever you heard it from got it backwards.
