  1. I'm training for cycling 4 days / week. That's all that I can fit in since I'm training for a triathlon, and cycling is my weakest spot. On a 12 mph wind day, my average speed on a flat course for a 20 mile ride was 16.6 mph. It was down the bike trail 10 miles, and back. Whenever I ride I try to negate the wind affects on the numbers by ending where I start. So anyways...

16.6 mph is not very good when I look at results from triathlons. Most people in my AG go around an average of 20 mph. Right now I'm riding a hybrid bike. The only modification to it is we flipped the handlebars upside down so I wasn't sitting so upright on it.

Soon I will have clipless pedals / shoes with it, but that is the only upgrade for a long time, before I invest in a road bike.

With my equipment, 20 mph avg for 15 miles is my goal. To do this, should I just go out those 4 days a week and go for about 20-25 miles, or is there some kind of special training things I can do to help me achieve my goal?
