yeah iknow there is probably a thread about this some where but its nearly 5am and i want to sleep so heres my deal.
i want to get a road bike. but am torn between multi gear and fixed/freewheel. i live in minneapolis so fixed would be a nice way to get around and have fun riding, also i am trying to get a job as a bike mesenger. but on the otherside i want to try and get into some racing events.
bikes ive been eyeing:
fixed-biachi pista, giant bowery, specialized langster
multi gear-giant OCR3, motobecane record
i can only afford one bike and it cant be too expensive.
so im looking for any advice. i love going fast and up and down hills that multi gear bikes allow me and id like to get into some races, but i also love booking around the city with my friends on my bmx which is why i want a fixedroad bike.
so waht do people think would be the better move? multigear andget into some races or fixed and scoot around the city in my free time with friends?
