After reading what they say in TAYA web site, I am not sure if that link is for removing the chain or just to assemble a brand new chain when installing it for the first time.
In your opinion, Should I remove that link to clean the chain or should I clean it without removing it from the frame?
I will really appreciate your opinion.

You need to have the leverage to flex the chain as shown in step 4 and push the link at the same time to remove it.
I much prefer the off bike method of cleaning shown at:
