After finishing my first couple of triathlons on my hybrid bike, it was made painfully clear to me that this was entirely inadequate if I wanted to post better times. So I'm now committed to buying my first tri bike and I'm kinda stuff now. I want an entry level, but am willing to spend up to $1500-1700.
So far I have narrowed it down to either the Cervelo Dual or One, or the Quintana Roo Kilo or Tequilo. I haven't researched the other brands much except for Trek.
I need a little help from anyone who is more knowlegdeable on this subject.
I think you should head into a few tri-shops and talk to the fitting experts (if they have any). You need to find out what's the best riding position for you. Should you go steep seat angle low or moderate handlebar drop? Or are you better suited to a slacker seat angle with a slightly higher handlebar. Once you determine that, one bike will probably stand out a the best choice.
