  1. Hello.

I'm a novice cyclist looking to buy a trainer. Is there anything I should be looking out for? Some
people have recommended investigating rollers, are they better than trainers?

Michele Ferrari is excellent if you can afford him. You wouldn't be a novice for long.

Since I doubt the OP wanted to know the technical specs for various trainers, and instead was more
interested in their qualities as they apply to training for BICYCLE RACING, I'll answer the question
    in the RACING group.

Rollers are great for smooth pedaling, and can be set up for resistance training. But, most folks
use a 'resistance' trainer for that.

My preference is the Cateye CS 1000. Not too expensive, has a consistent, if not accurate power
readout, and durable. Mine's on it's 9th year of heavy use.

    Scott
