  1. Hi all,
I am seriously considering purchasing (very cheaply) a new Vango TBS
    MICRO 100 tent.
It has a good specification but I'd like to know whether anyone out
there has any information or opinions about this peice of kit.
    Many thanks,
    Robin Creasey

I've used one of these for week long backpacking in the past, with
complete success. It took a couple of attempts to get the optional joint
inner/outer pitching right, but then it was no bother. Lightweight &
functional, kept me dry through a couple of nights of very heavy rain.
For 3 season use I'd say it was ideal: only down side was that it only
came in a loud purple & orange combination ...nasty stuff. RRP was 90
quid a couple of years ago, if you can get it cheap then I'd say go for it.

I had one and it was utterly loathsome : it went mouldy after 2 days in
the rain and the tension band goes through slits in the inner - not an
arrangement I'd trust to keep the midges out. Also it was 750g heavier
than the advertised weight. That was the last time I ever went by a
manufacturers statistic without personally checking before buying.

    Yuk!!!!
The one I'm looking at is a rather fetching royal blue. Not a sign of
    purple or orange.

I have one and it is comfortable & fairly roomy ( for a small 1 person
    tent).
I like the head room when sleeping as the inner tent material does not flap
in your face as it does on the larger TBS200 models.....check out the ways
    the poles run.

Strong and well priced and gave me no problems on a fairly wet & windy night
    or two.

The Hilleburg Akto gets good reviews but it costs a great deal more!
