  1. I had a little car accident while on vacation with my bike and my giant TCR alloy frame got wrecked, luckily that was the only damage done (got the frame for $200 off Ebay). I am now looking for a new frame. This bike will really only be used for racing (i'm cat 4 now with hopes to upgrade next year). So my main concerns are stiffness before lightness, as i've got a carbon fiber bike that i could use if i needed something really light in a hilly rr or something. I really don't want to spend more than 1000 on the frame, and less would be better. Anyone have any opinions? I like the Cervelo Soloist, but it retails for 1500.

  2. Maybe another TCR? I bought an alloy one for about that price too and I think it makes for an excellent bicycle. I'm just a middling Cat 3. It is a little heavier than the all-carbon model but dollar for dollar I can't see how you could beat it. Carbon perhaps has a slightly more supple ride, but if you're only going to race on it, I can't see why that'd much matter.
