I live in the UK and I've just changed my job and now it's just the right distance to cycle into work each day.
I'm looking for great deals on cycles in the UK. Preferably with interest free credit. I don't need anything special or fancy just a good reliable road bike which I can also ride along some of the cycle paths I use without having to worry.
Advice would be appreciated.

I suppose it depends on how hilly it is round you / how far you have to go / what you have to carry / how quickly you want to get there, and of course what you want to spend. A friend's just picked up a 7 gear hybrid jobby for £200, very comfy to ride but having 7 gears, it's rather restricted as far as getting anywhere quickly goes for those of us who aren't roadies who spin the pedals at 1000rpm 🙂. Bike shops often offer credit, and if I were you, I'd buy from a shop rather than online. You might pay more for the bike, but you also tend to get a couple of services chucked in for nowt.

See previous threads - why not try asking your new employer to buy you one?
