  1. This is my first time to ever acces this site but im intrested in buying a good road bike but i needed help with the measurments. I was just wondering if you could tell me like what size bike i would need for a guy about 5 11. How do you measure out the cm stuff for the bikes.

This is both an easy and hard question to answer. Most manufacturues have bikes that fit you based on height (i.e. you would probably be a 58cm, or maybe a Large, but not Extra Large if this is how they size their bikes), and they advertize this right on their web sites or brochures.

Before you buy anything you're best to try some road bikes from stores in your area (LBS) and get a feel for what you like and see the frame dimensions that suit you. The LBS you settle on is very important and they should be very eager to fit you properly, not just look at you and say one is definately right. The stem for example may have to be swapped out though everything else may be fine and can be tuned to fit you.

Good luck and spend time cruising these threads, this has been covered a # of times.

  3. Yes, you'll want a 58 or a "large" bike.

At 5'11", your arms are shorter than the 6'1" rider, so you'll also want to purchase about a 90 mm stem instead of the long-reach "whopper" most road bikes come with.
