On paper, these things look like they may be pretty cool. The "Virtual Partner" feature with the ability to race my own personal best during training looks especially slick. But I'm a little apprehensive about being one of the early Guinea pigs for a new product. I seem to remember that their Forerunner products were less than ideal when they were first released.
Has anyone purchased a Forerunner recently and if so, what has been your experience with it? Better yet, has anyone seen a demo of the Edge products in action?

I bought my wife a forerunner 301 and lo and behold, she bought me one as well..
Its larger than I would like and the layout of the buttons and screen is not optimum for running or cycling.. the lap button is too small and all the buttons are on the "bottom" edge of the device which is a bit awkward for running.. but its going to be a useful training tool. I've got a 16 mile training run coming up and I've got the training partner set to keep me on pace.. we'll see
