  1. I'm fairly new to the sport of cycling but not endurance based events. I ran track and cross country through high school but a reoccuring stress fracture in my metatarsal is causing me to switch sports. I ran a 50.8 sec 400m a 2:06 sec 800m and a 11:23 3200m. 200m 23.2 practice run
My questions are 1. Should my race times in track be a predictor of me being a better sprinter on the bike 2. What kind of bike can I get (probably online) for about 1000 to1500 dollars that is lightweight and road racing worthy 3. Should I be looking for certain bikes or upgrades if I am a better sprinter
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  2. 1) No, but it certainly won't hurt.
    2) If you know your correct size, these are the best bang for your buck prices on new bikes http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/road_bikes.htm
    3) Depending on your ultimate riding preferences, you might consider a triathlon bike instead of a traditional road bike.
