Yesterday, I picked up a wonderful 1981 Trek 412 to replace my now missing 1977 Raleigh Grand Prix. Mavic rims, Suntour Vx mechs, 022 CroMo steel tubing, all great stuff!
Once I replace the older and too-narrow gum-wall tires, the cables/housings, and put my Brooks saddle on it, I'll be in heaven! If I get a chance, I'll switch to aero brake levers and bar-end shifters, but only if I come into some free time and friction-shifting bar-end shifters.
Ok, so maybe I need to do some maintenance on it, like bearing work, cleaning, etc, but it's really in great shape. It has some nicks and scratches, but no dents or dings, and only minimal superficial rust on a few things.
Pictures will come after the rain stops and I get some time in my garage. It's a tad dirty right now.
