Hey fellow bikers! I got a rather interesting job today for the summer!
I am going to be assembling bicycles for local Canadian Tires and Walmarts! Neat eh? Although they are "crappy" bikes, as my boss calls them, this will definately give me some good experience! What a perfect summer job! Just thought you should know!

Cool! I've been to a Canadian Tire, and the bikes definitely leave a lot to be desired.
I had a job at a Performance Bike shop as a bike assembler many moons ago. Although our manager was so awful, I might as well have been at a Wal-Mart. He just wanted them thrown together as quickly as possible. "If the customer wants the wheels true, he can pay for a tune-up" he'd say. Pay for a tune-up on a new bike??. Whatever...

Hmmmm.....post bankruptcy Schwinns and entry level Raleighs sold here in Canadian Tire stores in NS. Might not be the lightest and best spec`ed bikes but they sure beat the Supercycles and CCM`s.
My biggest issue with "department" store bikes for younger/beginner riders is how they are assembled. Most are thrown together by inexperienced staff. No doubt you will be the exception to the rule...... 😉
BTW - It would be a good way to work on your wrenching skills tho......
🙂 I didn't say these bikes were anything good! I'll try my best. I know they are thrown together by inexperienced staff....like me! However, they pass specs before they are sold incase I mess up!
