Yesterday I posted a message asking how I can make my own grilled panini & I just wanted to say Thanks for all your great suggestions. You can check out a picture of my panini but I'm warning you...it'll make you hungry....hahahaha http://www.fotolog.net/giggles/
Yesterday I made my first grilled panini on my bbq. On the inside of the bread I put some of my homemade basil pesto, then I put grilled eggplant, yellow zucchini, onions, roasted red pepers, shredded mozzarella, shaved black forest ham. I put a little margarine on the outside of the bread and then heated up my griddle pan on my bbq and once the bread hit the grill it made a nice sizzle. Gotta love that sound..heehee

Quibble: two or more are panini. One is a panino.
It literally means "little bread" or "small roll." Pane (pah-neh) is bread. the suffix -ini or -ino is the diminutive.
