  1. I read some of Armstrong's biography. It's amazing how he managed to come
    back from that illness.

Indeed it is - when that chemotherapy is coursing through your body and you
feel so ill that as a sane and rational human being you ask yourself is life
worthwhile and would it be better if you gave in - but you carry on for the
sake of the people that love and encourage you - but you are so close to
giving in and surrendering to oblivion. How can YOU ever know unless you
have experienced that awfulness. I hope that you never will. I have.

What Armstrong means to me as both a cyclist and a cancer survivor is the
triumph of the human spirit over adversity. He is a truly remarkable man,
and as he says: Its not just about the bike.

Lance Armstrong I salute you. You are man among men. You give hope to so
    many people.

    back from that illness.

I liked the bit where a nurse asked him to test his lungs by trying to
raise a little ball in a tube by blowing into it. "Give me that f*****, if
it had a bell on the top it would have gone PING"

Also his comments the other day about the French public cheering on a known
drugs cheat like Veronque and booing him were interesting.
