  1. For those comtemplating an actual purchase of a Sandra Lee cookbook,
let me tell you about my favorite show of all time, the recipe is
probably on FNTV and in her cookbook about desserts, but, neither can
approach the hilarity that actually watching her making it on her
    so-called cooking show would have.

Who knows what it was actually called. But, it involved buying a
refrigerated puff pastry dough, cutting it into 3 equal regtangular
    pieces, and baking it.

Once baked and cooled, the puffiness of the pastry was all scooped out,
so one was left with 3 rectangular pieces of flat baked dough, ready
for a filling. I never quite understood this, as it made no sense.

Then Sandra Lee took a whole baked apple pie, dumped it into a bowl,
and, smashed and smushed it up a lot. Then took the apple pie stuff and
placed 1/3 of the mixture, on the 3 rectangual pieces of flat baked
dough, that were no longer puffy. Some Cool Whip on top of each layer,
and, then put all 3 layers on top of each other, for some sort of
layered effect. That's her concept of "keeping it semi-HOmemade" Yes,
a/c to her, you get to take 100% of the credit.

On the one hand, it was ridiculous. On the other hand, why bother, why
not just serve the apple pie, with Cool Whip on top? Because that's not
the semi-Homemade theme. Her whole concept is trying to reinvent the
wheel!!! And take more time and effort and money than something much
    simpler, and, probably better tasting.

  2. Oh my gosh!!! that's too funny...I've never heard of such a silly
    recipe...hahahaha

    Take care,
