Okay, if you are in Birmingham, England, you can get the medical coverage
from the government. If Birmingham, Alabama, you can get public assistance.
As a parent of a child with type 1, juvenile diabetes, I am disgusted that
this disease is used to scam people for money. Insulin is available from
the proper sources, if you lack funding, all you have to do is ask the
hospital/doctor/social services who will put you in touch with the proper
agencies that will fund the medication. To ask us, complete strangers, to
send money, is to put the touch on us. Shame on you. If someone sends it,
without knowing all the details on why it is needed and other avenues
haven't been explored, shame on them.

Reported to PayPal (who are likely to take action), Google Groups (who
won't do a damned thing except suggest I learn to use killfiles), and
E-Gold (no idea what their response is likely to be).

My next step will probably be printing out the response from Google
Groups, writing an almost-polite letter to Google's president, and
snail-mailing both.
