muffin question

  1. my bf made a batch of corn muffins that oozed over the sides, made
    one
    huge muffin essentially, and took a good extra seven minutes to bake.
    I think he added extra sugar, would that have caused that? It's a
    cooks illustrated recipe that I've made before and never had a
    problem
    with.

    My guess would be too much baking powder. Is it possible he confused "tsp"
    with "tbs" ?

    that's the weird thing, I was here and he didn't. the only difference
    was the amount of sugar. this happened to him the last time he made
    muffins too. maybe it's his touch. ;-)

    Maybe he made too much for the size of the muffin pan's cups.

    Perhaps the size of your muffins, trade in your A cups for D cups.
