  1. Best buy of this weekend; a pair of apparently never-used - judging by
appearance - black 700c SKS guards (less fixing bolts, which I had at
home anyway) from a Headingley charity shop for a fiver! Already fitted
to the winter/commuter bike to replace the old cracked/rattling ones
previously on it, and definitely the bright spot of the weekend after
all the grief I'm having fitting my handlebars back on the race bike
(same stem with new forks, and they don't seem to be the best of
    friends!).

I've only been in Leeds since last June. Mind you, since leaving home
at 18 to start a degree, I've had spells in Sheffield, Huddersfield [1]
and York too, so was fairly familiar with this neck of the woods
    already!

[1] When I lived there, I did have a go at riding Holme Moss. And boy,
    did I feel the after-effects!
