Hi, I'm planning on doing a tour/race over the himalayas this year. I'm 100% keen but I'm waiting on someone to come back from OS to bring me up to speed on the details. I've googled but only found limited information in the limited time I had. Has anyone here done or heard about these events? I understand one option is a 22 day stage race.
What is it like to ride at 19,000 ft? I've ridden at 15,000 with little more than a headache but I know the effects aren't linear with height.
I'm planning on trying it on a single speed, I know this has been done before and I love the absurdity of it. Cheers, Duncan.

I never heard of a race accross the Himalayas, but I do now of a tour and know several people who have been there and dunnit. If you care to go to the forum at www.mtbsport.nl and ask what you have to ask in the "MTB Overig"section, you will get all the answers you need.

Forget it mate, you don't wanna do that - what you wanna do, is ride at Ray's (who TF is Ray?!?) indoor MTB 'park'.
Apparently, the spirit of adventure is overrated or summink. ',;~}~

Gee Zeus matey, you're attitude meter's way broken - was just a wry, sarcastic joke, and about as 'light' hearted as it can get.

Yes. The sheer vastness of the number of places to ride, very much induces a surging fear deep within my psyche.
