Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am doing some base training for the upcoming MTB XC series. I live in the mountains of North Georgia and all riding has a considerable amount of climbing. Also I have been riding gravel roads on a mountain bike instead of riding paved roads. Is it ok to climb this much in base training? Is gravel road riding effective alternative to the road?

I answered a similar question by you recently, so maybe you didn't like my reply. Could you tell us why you think it would not be ok to climb during "base" training? And could you tell us what you mean by "base" training? As far as riding the mountain bike goes, it can't be a bad thing to train in the position that you race in.

I was having trouble with my computer when I tried to post it last time. Didn't even know it went through. Now I don't know where the thread is.
