  1. Hey, I own a specialized hardrock sport disc.
    I have recently been having problems with my gearing.

    The symptoms are;

    If I go into the bottom two gears on top or middle ring in chain hops, if done on the bottom ring the chain comes off completely.
    Also when in my bottom ring I have to get the dial on my handlebars into the middle or it makes very unusual sounds and can cease up.
    To get into my middle ring I have to go in the middle on the dial then ease in the lever until it changes.

    Does anyone know what this is or how I could fix it?
    Could these signs be of a front derraileur (excuse my spelling) damage?

  2. It shouldn't be any damage to the derailleur. It sound like either someone messed with the limit screws or they came loose. It also sounds like your cables are not tensioned correctly. If you are not familiar with setting derailleurs, I would take it to your local bike shop for them to do it.
